CH All Nighter III
Twenty four hours ago was the beginning of the third hour of CH’s 3rd All Nighter, and 2600 of my closest friends and I were watching with bated breath. I managed to stay awake and watch the entire 12 hour ordeal. I hated to admit, but I just sat in my computer chair in the living room, headphones plugged in, and spent the time listening to the hum of the TV, and occupying my mind with mindless games of Solitare. Quite a lot happened during the All Nighter, and I’m proud to say I was a part of all of it:
- We convinced the Twitter-verse, and the Internet, that Shaq retired,
- guest stars included Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme from Broken Lizard, the guys from Derrick Comedy, and Thomas Middleditch,
- I never heard so much Simpsons, Star Wars, LOST, Bang Bros, and CH trivia in my life,
- We all got to see the guys’ serious side when everything got “real”,
- 14 new videos,
- plus loads and loads more!
I spent the whole night sending in my comments, and as other people were getting called by the CH crew, I kept submitting my cell number, hoping I’d be called at some point. I wasn’t bitter or anything, I was just wondering if my turn would come. And then it did :)
Around 3am, things started to slow down, and people started to get tired and spacey. After a rousing time with Gale Beggy taking technology question calls, Sarah Schneider and the Phantom of the Office were the only 2 left in the room. They said that Top Chef was the only thing they agreed on, and since I love Top Chef and the finale was the day before, I sent a message saying how I loved Michael (the winner) and said to “CALL ME!” The live feed actually had a 30 - 40 second delay, so I had no idea they dialed my number, and all of a sudden my phone rang. I answered it, and the Phantom started grilling me about Top Chef. It was so great :) We talked about the winner and our thoughts on the finale and the season, and after I commented on Sarah’s bangs, they thanked me for talking, and sent me on my way.
I went back and watched the recording of this happening on uStream, and not only did I get to see the set up to them calling me, I also realized that I kinda sounded like a dork, haha. Not to sound weird, but I was so excited and surprised that they actually called me—after 8 hours of waiting—that I tripped over my words a bit. But it’s all good. I’m just thrilled that I got a call from 2 of my favorite people at CollegeHumor.
In closing, I just wanna congratulate and thank everyone at CollegeHumor for 14 great new videos, and an evening full of laughs, trivia, and greatness.
And I ended up being awake for approximately 27 hours.
The end.
2 days agoAnd the winner is....
Michael Voltaggio!! We have a new Top Chef!
I love to see cute tattooed boys come out on top :)
The Top Chef: Las Vegas finale
is in 3 minutes. Will it be Michael, Bryan, or Kevin? Who will be the Top Chef?
Let’s do this.
4 days agoPhantom Throughout History
My new cartoon for College Humor, illustrates the sordid back-story of their undying coworker, Phantom Of The Office. He’s a recurring character who I’ve always thought was pretty damn funny. Phantom is played by Streeter Seidell, and Sarah Schneider is, as always, the victim of his creepy presence.
This vid has 3 of my favorite things: Phantom, Dan Meth animation, and classic CH tension between characters. Plus I got the 2nd comment on the video ;)
PS. Second reblog in one day? I’m on fire today.

Has it been ten years already???
New York Magazine’s cultural timeline of the 2000’s.
Yup, 10 years. I did a lot of growing up in the 2000s. Can you believe I was only 14 at the beginning of 2000….
You’ve come a long way, baby…
Is it really such a hard name to spell?
Last week, I went to speak with some lovely Indian people at the local hotel to reserve a block of rooms for my wedding reception. While they were very nice, their English was a little broken. The computers were down when I met with them, so they said they would send me the contract in the mail.
I received the contract a few days ago, and found that they spelled my name wrong. Not once. Not twice. But three times ON THE SAME PAGE:
Helene (not too bad since my middle initial is E), Helean, and Helaen.
I didn’t think it was too hard, but there ya go.
PS. I found my wedding dress, and it’s gorgeous ;)
1 week agoDongle
(plural dongles)
- (computer hardware) A hardware device utilized by a specific application for purposes of copy protection.
- (by extension) Any short wired connector (such as a network or USB adapter) typically used with a laptop computer.
Yes, it is a real word. And yes, I used “dongles” today as the first play in a Scrabble game with Chris and my mom. 72 points. It was also the first Bingo I’ve ever gotten in Scrabble. I knew being a computer nerd would come in handy some day.
I have a catch post coming soon, as well as a tale of a name spelled wrong.
In the mean time, enjoy some of my recent Farmville posts:
“They see my rollin, they hatin…”
“Power to the flowers, man…”
“18 x 18 = 324”
“‘Super Shoveler’…..yeah, shoveler of shiatzu…”
“I just want to thank everyone who lost…”
